Quality Assurance

Role of IQAC

The UGC (University Grants Commission) proposes that every institution should have an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) for performance evaluation, assessment, accreditation and quality improvement. Since quality enhancement is a continuous process, the IQAC of Hira Lal Ram Niwas PG College has become an integral part and is working towards realizing the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance.

The prime task of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the performance of institutions and to channelize the efforts towards academic excellence. IQAC is a statutory, facilitative and participative system/unit/organ of the institution, acting as a vehicle for ushering in quality by working out intervention strategies to remove deficiencies and enhance quality.

Objectives of IQAC

The primary aim of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution.

Strategies Adopted

IQAC shall evolve mechanisms and procedures for:

  1. Ensuring timely, efficient and progressive performance of academic, administrative and financial tasks.
  2. The relevance and quality of academic and research programmes.
  3. Equitable access to and affordability of academic programmes for various sections of society.
  4. Optimization and integration of modern methods of teaching and learning.
  5. The credibility of evaluation procedures.
  6. Ensuring the adequacy, maintenance and functioning of the support structure and services.
  7. Research sharing and networking with other institutions in India and abroad.

Functions of IQAC

  1. To design feedback system considering college output to adjust its performance to meet the desired output response.
  2. To recommend enhancing research facilities and other infrastructure.
  3. To recommend strategies adopted for the teaching-learning process.
  4. To conduct internal audits and work out the mechanism for timely, efficient and periodic progressive performance of Academic & Administrative activities on a regular basis.
  5. Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters for the various academic and administrative activities of the institution.
  6. Dissemination of information on the various quality parameters of higher education.
  7. Organization of workshops and seminars on quality-related themes and promotion of quality circles.
  8. Documentation of the various programmes/activities leading to quality improvement.
  9. Acting as a nodal agency of the institution for quality-related activities.
  10. Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) to be submitted to NAAC based on the quality parameters.
